About Amy 

Praised by critics for her "luminous voice" and captivating stage presence, Amy Wilkinson is an accomplished and versatile artist who has been hailed by the Courier Mail for her performance as Mimi "that glowed in radiant, expressive power, reaching into the auditorium with that centred focus".  

Career highlights include Mimi in La Bohème for The State Opera of South Australia where she was praised with a voice that "soared" and revealed an "honesty to the character" (theatreguide.com). Wilkinson has appeared as Countess in Le nozze di Figaro for Opera Australia, Atalanta in Serse for New Zealand Opera displaying "excellent acting ability" (Middle C, NZ) and was a "standout" that provided "a perfect foil" in her interpretation. Other Opera Australia performance highlights include the roles of The High Priestess (Aida), Giulietta (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Frasquita (Carmen), Oberto (Alcina), Dorinda (Orlando), Lisa (La Sonnambula), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Javotte (Manon), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Second Woman (Dido and Aeneas), Paquette/Crook (Candide) and Edith (The Pirates of Penzance).

Other roles performed professionally include: Micaëla and Frasquita (Carmen) for Oz Opera, Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro) both for Opera Queensland. Roles covered for Opera Australia include Fiordiligi (Cosi fan Tutte), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Musetta (La Bohème), Marzelline (Fidelio), Second Niece (Peter Grimes), Clorinda (La Cenerentola) and Sophie (Werther).

In concert Amy has performed Mendelssohn's Elijah, Mozart's Requiem for The Queensland Choir; Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle for Opera Queensland; Handel's Messiah for The Queensland Orchestra; Haydn’s The Seasons, JC Bach's Magnificat, David Hamilton's Missa Pacifica and Handel's Saul for the Queensland Choir.

Amy completed a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium during which she performed the roles of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and the title role in Puccini’s opera Suor Angelica. Amy was a participant in the Advanced Performance Programs at the Australian National Academy of Music and is an alumna of both the Young Artist Program of Opera Queensland and the Moffatt Oxenbould Young Artist Development Program of Opera Australia. A recipient of many prestigious awards including: The Metropolitan Opera Award, The Australian Singing Competition, Opera Awards, The Alton Budd Memorial Award, Sir Mostyn Hanger Opera Scholarship, The Brisbane Club Award and The Dame Joan Sutherland Award. Over the past 7 years, Amy has expanded her career as a Voice Teacher and an Awarded Academic (Masters of Vocal Pedagogy, Queensland Conservatorium).
